H.A.L. does NOT dock in Half Moon Bay. This is a small town south of San Francisco, north of Monterey. You would need a car to get to this area from San Fran.

The parking is limited, it's a small lot, also depends on the time of year. When Mavericks is going on between Nov to March, you may luck out during the weekdays. As you walk from the lot, there are some tide pools along the path to the beach. You can see the waves and surfers better taking the path to the cliff, above the beach.
